09:30 < geertu> Welcome to today's Core Group Chat Meeting!
09:30 < geertu> Agenda:
09:30 < geertu> 1. Status Updates
09:30 < geertu> 2. Discussion Topics
09:30 < geertu> Topic 1. Status updates
09:30 < geertu> A) What have we done since last time:
09:30 < geertu> Marek work on ATF (A/B booting based on MFISBTSTSR, RWDT clock keep
09:30 < geertu> enable), ABloader (RWDT, docs, reboot-to-flashwriter, non-M3W SoCs),
09:30 < geertu> U-Boot (memory node deduplication, HF PPB locking), and Linux (PCIe L1
09:30 < geertu> recovery).
09:30 < geertu> Morimoto-san did Renesas work.
09:30 < geertu> Niklas posted a patch to add ISPCS clocks on R-Car V3U.
09:30 < geertu> Shimoda-san submitted a fix for PMU on R-Car V3U, found the root cause
09:30 < geertu> for the R-Car V3U IPMMU + SYS-DMAC issue, supported a M3ULCB memory map
09:30 < geertu> investigation, and got more information about OSAL.
09:30 < geertu> Geert sent pull requests for v5.13, posted DVFS incl. boost modes for
09:30 < geertu> R-Car Gen3, converted remaining Renesas clock drivers to
09:30 < geertu> .determine_rate(), converted the 74hc595 DT bindings to json-schema, and
09:30 < geertu> enjoyed Easter holidays.
09:32 < geertu> B) What we plan to do till next time:
09:32 < geertu> Marek might work on R-Car V3U, or continue on CI.
09:32 < geertu> Shimoda-san plans to continue working on IPMMU for R-Car V3U, and hopes
09:32 < geertu> to collect more information about R-Car Gen3e.
09:32 < geertu> Geert plans to do more bsp-41x triage, and perhaps add pin bias support
09:32 < geertu> for other R-Car Gen2 SoCs and boards.
09:32 < geertu> C) Problems we have currently:
09:32 < geertu> None.
09:32 < geertu> EOT
09:32 < geertu> Anything I missed?
09:33 < morimoto> Interesting. Easter holidays
09:34 < geertu> marex: So for AB, you switched from using PMIC RAM to a MFIS register?
09:34 < geertu> morimoto: Yes, the kids have 2 weeks off.
09:34 < marex> geertu: no, I still have to use the PMIC, because the SoC is fully power cycled
09:34 < geertu> marex: IC, what do you use the MFIS register for?
09:35 < marex> geertu: I patch the MFISBTSTSR with the information whether I booted A or B copy, so the subsequent software (ATF, Optee-OS, U-Boot) knows what side to boot (A or B)
09:35 < geertu> morimoto: incl. the teaching wife
09:35 < marex> geertu: ATF needs it to determine where to load BL31, opteeos and U-Boot from (from which offset)
09:35 < geertu> marex: OK
09:36 < geertu> Topic 2. Discussion Topics
09:36 < geertu> Anything to discuss?
09:36 < morimoto> geertu: thank you for explaining detail
09:37 < wsa> maybe shimoda-san can explain the OSAL details now?
09:38 < neg> Quick question, have anyone else noticed problems on the V3U in damm's lab while rebooting? Over half of the times I try I get 'Failed to DRAM initialize' errors and I need to cycle the power to recover
09:38 < geertu> neg: I get that to.
09:39 < geertu> I think it's temperature-related.
09:39 < geertu> I.e. if the board is hot, it might happen.
09:39 < shimoday> wsa: about OSAL, i'd like to explain it on email because my english skill is not good (super slow) :)
09:39 < geertu> kbingham: Have you seen that on your board, too?
09:39 < kbingham> Nope ?
09:39 < wsa> shimoday: ah, okay. this is fine, too
09:39 < wsa> shimoday: thanks!
09:40 < morimoto> geert: if board was fired, too :)
09:40 < wsa> neg: same here. I usually power it off when I don't run tests to avoid that
09:41 < neg> cool then I know I'm not the only one
09:41 < neg> morimoto: Do we need to resurrect https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lp0_on_fire ?
09:42 < geertu> neg: USB printer?
09:42 < morimoto> neg: nice :)
09:44 < morimoto> v3u on fire ?
09:44 < pinchartl> if there's no discussion topic, can we move on ?
09:44 < pinchartl> date for the next meeting ?
09:44 < geertu> May 13 is a holiday in most of EU, I believe
09:44 < geertu> May 20?
09:45 < pinchartl> is it ? good news :-)
09:45 < shimoday> May 20 is good to me
09:45 < geertu> pinchartl: Ascension Day
09:46 < morimoto> May 20 is OK for me
09:46 < neg> works for me
09:46 < geertu> wsa: OK?
09:46 < wsa> may, 20th please
09:47 < geertu> May 20th it will be
09:47 < pinchartl> ok
09:47 < geertu> Thanks for joining, and have a nice continued day!
