09:40 < geertu> Welcome to today's Core Group Chat Meeting!
09:40 < geertu> Agenda:
09:40 < geertu> 1. Status Updates
09:40 < geertu> 2. Discussion Topics
09:40 < geertu> Topic 1. Status updates
09:40 < geertu> A) What have we done since last time:
09:40 < geertu> Marek worked on U-Boot (HS400), Linux (PCI dma-ranges), and OpTee
09:40 < geertu> (patchset cleanup).
09:40 < geertu> Shimoda-san sent BSDL files to Marek, submitted rcar-usb2-clock-sel and
09:40 < geertu> ipmmu patches, and reviewed R-Car M3-W+ and RZ/G2N patches.
09:40 < geertu> Geert posted the OSTM timer_of conversion, debugfs_create() fixes, and
09:40 < geertu> initial R-Car M3-W+ support, and started improving sh-pfc runtime
09:40 < geertu> checks.
09:41 < jmondi> geertu: could you please add "Jacopo: tested GPIO backlight patch series for SH4 Ecovec" ?
09:41 < geertu> Sure
09:42 < geertu> Jacopo tested the GPIO backlight patch series for SH4 Ecovec
09:42 < geertu> B) What we plan to do till next time:
09:42 < geertu> Marek plans to continue working on U-Boot HS400 and OpTee.
09:42 < geertu> Geert plans to add more R-Car M3-W+ support, post new sh-pfc runtime
09:42 < geertu> checks and related fixes, and resume gpio-aggregator and DMAC sysfs
09:42 < geertu> work.
09:43 < geertu> C) Problems we have currently:
09:43 < geertu> Shimoda-san wonders who should be listed as the maintainer for DT
09:43 < geertu> binding documentation.
09:44 < geertu> ---EOT---
09:44 < geertu> Anything I missed?
09:45 < geertu> shimoda: The maintainer for DT binding documentations is typically the same as the driver maintainer.
09:46 < morimoto> geertu: jmondi: interesting. Ecovec is still working, and/or still exist
09:46 < geertu> But lately people (doing the conversion to yaml) have been "creative" with it ;-)
09:47 < pinchartl> wsa_: now I'm here. sorry for the delay
09:47 < jmondi> morimoto: was quite an effort to resurect it :)
09:47 < jmondi> morimoto: Geert told everyone I still have that board, so I'm now receiveing patches to test on it -> JOY
09:48 < morimoto> jmondi: Nice to know !
09:48 < morimoto> resurrect :)
09:48 < jmondi> yes indeed :)
09:49 < wsa_> pinchartl: No worries, I'll ask you during the MM meeting
09:49 < geertu> shimoda: both the rcar-dmac and ipmmu-vmsa drivers are authored by pinchartl, but who is the de-facto maintainer?
09:50 < wsa_> In I2C, I got a patch from people only wanting to maintain the YAML file but not the driver :/
09:50 < shimoda> geertu: lets try to use get_maintainer.pl :)
09:51 < geertu> wsa_: Everybody wants to avoid maintaining i2c drivers, apparently ;-)
09:51 < geertu> shimoda: That'll be Jörg and Vinod...
09:52 < geertu> Is the maintainers field mandatory in yaml bindings?
09:52 < kbingham> does get_maintainers parse the yaml bindings?
09:53 < morimoto> I'm CC:ing to Rob if it was DT yaml patch
09:53 < geertu> kbingham: Nope (i.e. not yet)
09:54 < kbingham> geertu, get_maintainers will get crazy slow if it has to parse all files :S ?
09:55 < kbingham> geertu, Also - I presume the patchwork bot is working well now? I see more rreports from it on the mailing list ?
09:56 < geertu> kbingham: yes, seems to work well. Thanks!
09:57 < kbingham> I don't think it's cleaning up historical patch series', but it seems to be updating current ones.
09:57 < kbingham> I'll go through and see what needs cleaning up from the MM side
09:57 < geertu> kbingham: Thanks, that would be great!
09:58 < geertu> Note to all: feel free to mark your historical patches in https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-renesas-soc/list/
09:58 < geertu> So we're already at
09:58 < geertu> Topic 2. Discussion Topics
09:58 < geertu> Anything else to discuss?
10:00 < geertu> Thanks for joining, and have a nice continued day!
