10:25 < pinchartl> * Jacopo
10:25 < pinchartl> Since last meeting:
10:25 < pinchartl> - Tested HDMI audio support on Salvator-XS M3-N
10:25 < pinchartl> - Resumed CMM upstream work
10:25 < pinchartl> - Broke and fixed my NFS setup
10:25 < pinchartl> - Small patches review on linux-media
10:25 < pinchartl> - Periject task update
10:25 < pinchartl> Until next meeting:
10:25 < pinchartl> - Re-send CMM support
10:25 < pinchartl> Issues and blockers: None
10:25 < pinchartl> jaany comment ?
10:26 < pinchartl> no, not ja
10:26 < morimoto> jmondi: thank you for HDMI sound testing !
10:26 < jmondi> ahem
10:26 < pinchartl> jmondi: any comment ? :-)
10:26 < jmondi> no comments, but nice name, thanks
10:26 < jmondi> morimoto: you're welcome!
10:27 < jmondi> pinchartl geertu uli_ thanks for CMM comments, I'll resubmit a new version soon
10:27 < pinchartl> thank you
10:27 < pinchartl> * Kieran
10:27 < pinchartl> Since last meeting:
10:27 < pinchartl> - GMSL review (Add MAX9286 driver with single camera support)
10:27 < pinchartl> - Summer holiday
10:27 < pinchartl> Until next meeting:
10:27 < pinchartl> - Summer holiday
10:27 < pinchartl> Issues and blockers: None
10:28 < pinchartl> (kbingham is excused)
10:28 < pinchartl> * Morimoto-san
10:28 < pinchartl> Since last meeting:
10:28 < pinchartl> - ALSA SoC framework cleanup
10:28 < pinchartl> Posting more patches (in small batches) and resending pending patches.
10:28 < pinchartl> Until next meeting:
10:28 < pinchartl> - Continue progressing cleanup patches
10:28 < pinchartl> More than 200 patches to be posted.
10:28 < pinchartl> Issues and Blockers:
10:28 < pinchartl> - Large number of cleanup patches to upstream
10:28 < pinchartl> The cleanup patches are not complex from a technical point of view, but
10:28 < pinchartl> given the large quantity review, and thus merging, is slow.
10:28 < pinchartl> morimoto: any comment ?
10:29 < morimoto> no comment, thanks
10:29 < pinchartl> regarding the review speed and the large number of patches, I haven't checked the patches themselves, but maybe it would be possible to squash some of them together if they're small and related to the same topic ?
10:30 < pinchartl> for instance, does ALSA require one patch per driver when you refactor APIs ? (or maybe your patches are already squashed and you just have a very large number of changes)
10:30 < morimoto> Yeah, but current patches are for framework, not for driver.
10:31 < morimoto> Thank you for your advice
10:31 < morimoto> too many very small cleanup patches :)
10:32 < pinchartl> ok :-)
10:32 < pinchartl> good luck then, or as we say in Finnish, tsemppiä !
10:32 < morimoto> Thanks :)
10:33 < pinchartl> * Laurent
10:33 < pinchartl> Since last meeting:
10:33 < pinchartl> - Sent pull requests for v5.3 fixes and v5.4
10:33 < pinchartl> - FCP version read at probe time
10:33 < pinchartl> - CMM & VI patch review
10:33 < pinchartl> - Assisted Fabrizio with LVDS dual link support for r8a774c0-ek874.dts
10:33 < pinchartl> - DRM bridge API refactoring work with Boris Brezillon
10:33 < pinchartl> Until next meeting:
10:33 < pinchartl> - DU group refactoring
10:33 < pinchartl> Issues and Blockers: None
10:33 < pinchartl> (I had forgotten myself in alphabetical order)
10:33 < pinchartl> and I also forgot in the tasks since last meeting
10:34 < pinchartl> - Investigated HDMI output issues on Lager
10:34 < pinchartl> any question ?
10:34 < jmondi> are the DU group refactoring patches out?
10:34 < jmondi> should I take them into account for CMM ?
10:35 < pinchartl> let me check
10:36 < jmondi> thanks
10:36 < pinchartl> [PATCH v3 00/10] drm: rcar-du: Rework CRTC and groups for atomic commits
10:36 < pinchartl> I'd appreciate if you could take a look to at least be aware of what's going on
10:36 < pinchartl> but I think it's too early to rebase on top of that
10:38 < jmondi> pinchartl: sure
10:38 < jmondi> I'll have a look indeed
10:38 < pinchartl> thank you
10:38 < pinchartl> * Niklas
10:38 < pinchartl> Since last meeting:

10:38 < pinchartl> Until next meeting:
10:38 < pinchartl> - Keep cleaning up VIN and get out-of-tree patches merged.
10:38 < pinchartl> - Keep pushing for a GMSL progress.
10:38 < pinchartl> Issues and blockers: None

10:39 < pinchartl> Since last meeting:
10:39 < pinchartl> - [PATCH] dt-bindings: sh-mobile-ceu: Rename bindings documentation file

10:39 < pinchartl> - Continue bindings documentation filename cleanup
10:39 < pinchartl> - Follow up on BSP patch triage with Laurent
10:39 < pinchartl> Issues and Blockers: None
10:39 < pinchartl> horms: any comment ?
10:39 < pinchartl> how would you like to proceed for the BSP patch triage follow up ?
10:39 < horms> We could chat here, perhaps after this meeting. Or just continue the email thread.
10:40 < horms> No other comment :)
10:41 < pinchartl> I'm available this afternoon but not right after this meeting I'm afraid
10:41 < pinchartl> would you be able to summarize the status by e-mail ? we can then discuss it on IRC if needed
10:41 < jmondi> horms: pinchartl please keep me in the loop for ebisu upporting as I have the board if you need testing/support
10:42 < jmondi> specifically on the puzzling: "d3394635755093f8539acfdbaf932a164ec59533 # arm64: dts: 8a77990-ebisu: Enable simultaneous output of VGA and HDMI"
10:42 < horms> pinchartl: my email from yesterday does sumarise the status from my pov
10:42 < horms> jmondi: sure will do
10:43 < jmondi> horms: thanks, do you have the board ?
10:43 < horms> Yes :)
10:43 < pinchartl> horms: ok, I'll reply to the e-mail this afternoon, and if needed will ping you on IRC
10:44 < pinchartl> thank you
10:44 < horms> pinchartl: thanks, good plan
10:44 < jmondi> great, just let me know then if you need any support in testing
10:44 < pinchartl> * Ulrich
10:44 < pinchartl> Since last meeting: None
10:44 < pinchartl> Until next meeting: None
10:44 < pinchartl> Issues and Blockers: None
10:44 < pinchartl> uli_: is that correct ?
10:44 < uli_> yes
10:44 < horms> jmondi: my main problem with thesting that is getting some cables. And a test scenario
10:44 < pinchartl> thank you
10:45 < pinchartl> any other question or comment for the multimedia meeting, or any discussion topic ?
10:45 < morimoto> I have 1
10:46 < jmondi> pinchartl: I have a small one too
10:46 < pinchartl> morimoto: please go ahead
10:46 < morimoto> thanks :)
10:46 < jmondi> horms: I do have cables, but to test simulatanous output I was wondering as well how to do so.. I toyed myself with the idea that we need to write a test to add to the du-test suite to do so
10:47 < morimoto> I had asked about 8ch camera rebase for v4.x base kernel at OSS-J.
10:47 < morimoto> "rebase" request became fake, but I believe "upstream" request is still alive.
10:47 < morimoto> But, is this correct ?
10:47 < morimoto> It is not super rush, but BSP team want to use it as upstream base.
10:47 < horms> jmondi: perhaps we can chat offline about that part
10:48 < jmondi> horms: yes, ping me whenever
10:48 < pinchartl> morimoto: yes, we dropped the rebase (after unfortunately spending some time on it) but will continue with upstream development
10:48 < pinchartl> I believe Niklas has sent a development plan proposal, right ?
10:48 < morimoto> Yes
10:48 < morimoto> OK, thanks
10:49 < morimoto> I guess it takes long term ?
10:49 < pinchartl> it won't be done tomorrow :-) but I want to focus our efforts on it. very short term I would like to get pending patches merged for DU and CMM, but apart from that I want to focus on GMSL
10:50 < morimoto> Ohh, not tomorrow orz
10:50 < morimoto> joke ;)
10:50 < jmondi> morimoto: :)
10:50 < morimoto> OK, thanks
10:50 < morimoto> that's all from me. thanks
10:50 < jmondi> morimoto: any feedback on the proposed plan, and on the anticipated interest for rdacm21
10:50 < jmondi> ?
10:51 < morimoto> they want to use rdacm21 camera, thanks
10:52 < morimoto> No big feedback.
10:52 < morimoto> They are worry about upstream base 8ch camera.
10:52 < morimoto> because they are using old kernel base 8ch camera (= soc-camera)
10:53 < morimoto> and they need to update kernel version.
10:53 < jmondi> and we killed soc-camera in newer kernel, I see
10:53 < morimoto> jmondi: yes, it is the reason.
10:53 < jmondi> well, the fact they want to use rdacm21 is a feedback already
10:55 < pinchartl> thank you
10:55 < pinchartl> jmondi: you had a question too ?
10:55 < jmondi> let's keep pushing to have the max9286 driver merged then! thanks
10:55 < jmondi> yes, small one
10:55 < jmondi> I sent a periject patch to track CMM work
10:55 < jmondi> who collects them ? (I know the question has been asked multiple times already)
10:56 < morimoto> good question :)
10:56 < jmondi> :)
10:56 < morimoto> I think all member can push, but I don't know the rule
10:56 < pinchartl> I don't plan to collect them, so from my point of view you should push it :-)
10:57 < morimoto> after review ? or without posting to ML ?
10:57 < pinchartl> after review
10:58 < morimoto> OK, good to know
10:58 < pinchartl> I think they should be posted to the mailing list so that everybody can see what is happening
10:58 < morimoto> push it after getting leader's Ack is more nice
10:58 < pinchartl> I'll try to ack them
10:58 < pinchartl> but if there's no review feedback within a few days, I think the changes can be pushed
10:59 < jmondi> fine then
10:59 < jmondi> I'll wait for an ack for a few more days... now that you know the patch is there, could you have a brief look ?
10:59 < jmondi> pinchartl: ^
10:59 < jmondi> that's ll from me!
11:01 < pinchartl> jmondi: done
11:01 < pinchartl> any other question or discussion topic ?
11:01 < morimoto> nothing from me !
11:03 < pinchartl> then this meeting is adjourned
11:03 < pinchartl> thank you everybody for attending
11:03 < pinchartl> and have a nice day
