<pinchartl> welcome to the multimedia meeting
<pinchartl> Topic 1. Status Check for the Multimedia Tasks
<pinchartl> * Geert
<pinchartl> Since last meeting:
<pinchartl> - Upported Eagle X1 clock patch
<pinchartl> - DT binding validation related fixes
<pinchartl> This includes conversion to json-schema for IMR and JPU.
<pinchartl> Until next meeting: None
<pinchartl> Issues and blockers: None
<pinchartl> geertu: any comment ?
<geertu> pinchartl: nope
<pinchartl> thanks
<pinchartl> * Jacopo
<pinchartl> Since last meeting:
<pinchartl> - Setup AGL SDK and run test images
<pinchartl> - Back-ported pipewire tutorials to the version shipped by AGL
<pinchartl> - USB camera capture testing on AGL platform
<pinchartl> Until next meeting: ? [17:16]
<pinchartl> Issues and blockers:
<pinchartl> - Need feedback from media maintainers on
<pinchartl> "[PATCH v4 16/17] media: v4l2-subdev: De-deprecate init() subdev
 op"
<pinchartl> Pinged once already.
<pinchartl> jmondi: any comment ?
<pinchartl> let's move on while Jacopo wakes up [17:17]
<pinchartl> * Kieran
<pinchartl> Since last meeting:
<pinchartl> - v4l2-utils meson conversion testing
<pinchartl> May have poked the Mauro Bear...
<pinchartl> - VSP on V3U bringup
<pinchartl> The VSP-D on V3U seems not to be able to operate without the DU,
so it can't be tested standalone as on Gen3 platforms (in
memory-to-memory mode). Enabling the DU gives frame completion
interrupts on the VSP, which seems to confirm this assumption.
<pinchartl> - DU bringup (integrating with Laurent's SN65DSI86 bridge)
<pinchartl> Can now identify that the VSP is operating, but need more
development to get the DU fully controlling the display port.
<pinchartl> Until next meeting:
<pinchartl> - SN65DSI86 integration, to be able to complete DU output [17:18]
<pinchartl> Issues and blockers:
<pinchartl> - VSP testing would be easier if it could operate in UAPI mode
<pinchartl> Testing the VSP standalone without the DU would be useful. Maybe
be worth trying the UAPI mode with a manual get on the DSI clocks
 ?
<pinchartl> kbingham: any comment ?
<kbingham> I also upgraded my 5g/microsoft account by getting my first vaccine
 ;-)
<kbingham> But otherwise no comment ;-)
<pinchartl> :-)
<pinchartl> btw, I've s/SN64DSI86/SN65DSI86/ in your report
<pinchartl> also, for VSP testing, did you mean getting the DSI clocks, or the
 DU clocks, or both ?
<kbingham> I have already tried enabling DU clocks to get the VSP to run
 [17:19]
<kbingham> So I suspect I mean both
<pinchartl> ok
<kbingham> Diving into the bringup for DU made me realise there was a DSI
 clock.
<pinchartl> I think it's worth giving it a try
<kbingham> ok [17:20]
<pinchartl> but if it's about the pixel clock and not the module clocks, then
you'll need to configure the DSI encoder and start it
<pinchartl> it won't be as simple as enabling a CPG clock
<pinchartl> (although that should be tried first, just in case)
<jmondi> ah ups, missed the notification :)
<kbingham> sure. Well it was nice to be able to see the VSP actaully firing
interrupts at last after lots of dead ends [17:21]
<kbingham> but it will be nicer to see it doing something real
<pinchartl> of course :-)
<pinchartl> it's going in the right direction, let's get the display output
 working
<pinchartl> * Laurent
<pinchartl> Since last meeting:
<pinchartl> - V4L2 multiplexed streams development
<pinchartl> Worked with Tomi Valkeinen. Several patch series have been posted,
 work is continuing.
<pinchartl> - SN65DSI86 driver development
<pinchartl> The SN65DSI86 (DSI to eDP bridge used on the V3U Falcon board) is
seeing active development upstream, and lots of discussions were
needed to make sure it wouldn't go in a direction that would
 negatively affect us.
<pinchartl> - DSI driver upporting
<pinchartl> Provided test branch to Kieran who took over (at least
temporarily) this part, to enable VSP testing.
<pinchartl> - Move DU to the drm_bridge_connector helper
<pinchartl> Patches had bit-rotten, rebased and reposted them. This is a
prerequisite for the DSI bridge driver development.
<pinchartl> Until next meeting: [17:22]
<pinchartl> - V4L2 multiplexed streams development
<pinchartl> - Upstream DU move to drm_bridge_connector helper
<pinchartl> - Complete DSI and DU driver upporting (with Kieran)
<pinchartl> - Display drivers upstreaming (tentative)
<pinchartl> Issues and blockers: None
<pinchartl> any comment ?
<pinchartl> * Morimoto-san
<pinchartl> Since last meeting:
<pinchartl> - Continue ALSA SoC framework and/or new generic sound card driver
<pinchartl> - Got problem reports from customer support team that - Sound has
NULL pointer error after 1 hour - Sound will be silence after 4-5
 hours
<pinchartl> Until next meeting:
<pinchartl> - Continue work on ALSA SoC
<pinchartl> - Investigate and solve the sound issues
<pinchartl> Issues and Blockers: None
<pinchartl> moriperi: any comment ?
<moriperi> The both issues are solved today ?
<moriperi> oops [17:23]
<moriperi> sovled today.
<pinchartl> nice !
<pinchartl> you work faster than I can type reports ;-)
<moriperi> Hehe :)
<pinchartl> * Niklas

<pinchartl> Until next meeting:
<pinchartl> - Follow up pending patches. [17:24]
<pinchartl> - Send next batch of cleanup patches found while working on V3U
<pinchartl> Issues and blockers: None
<pinchartl> neg: any comment ?
<neg> No additional comment :-)
<pinchartl> have you received any review feedback from V4L2 developers on the
 ISP driver ?
<neg> No the v4l2 community feedback have been rather disappointing
<neg> But nothing new for v4l2 ;-)
<pinchartl> unfortunately [17:25]
<pinchartl> * Ulrich
<pinchartl> Since last meeting:
<pinchartl> - atest improvements
<pinchartl> - input format detection - fixes for issues with varying amount of
silence in input files - custom test messages - 5-channel support

<pinchartl> Issues and blockers: None
<pinchartl> uli__: any comment ?
<uli__> nope
<pinchartl> thanks
<pinchartl> any other discussion topic for today ?
